Dear Mr Oelofse,

You probably don't remember me, but I bought your beautiful giraffe-bone handled knife at the Durban Knife Show at Riverside Hotel a couple of years ago.

Firstly, I want to tell you how much pleasure this knife has bought me and the admiration it has received from many of my friends and family.

In October this year I went on a 5-day primitive walking trail in the Umfolozi Game Reserve sponsored by the Kearsney College Old Boys. We walked in Big-5 territory and slept in sleeping bags on the ground beneath the stars.

My knife was always close by my side and gave me comfort, particularly at night when the hyenas were whooping just beyond our vision. I was the envy of my friends. Needless to say everybody wanted to use my knife to either cut firewood branches or to prepare the evening meal. My greatest pleasure was using your knife to shave in the early morning the boys couldn't believe how sharp the blade was. I have attached four photographs for your enjoyment!

The only problem I've had with the knife is that the blade has cut the stitching at the bottom of the sheath. Will you be in Durban again next year at the knife show so that I can show you the problem and ask you please to repair the sheath and also sharpen my knife for shaving excellence?
